Meet Our Designer
Laurie Seubert, the owner and principal designer of Blackbird Design Studio, is living proof that it's never too late to follow your dreams. Laurie is the only local design consultant with over 30 years' experience in financial services. A native Rhode Islander, Laurie studied business at the Community College of Rhode Island and Bryant College (now Bryant University) and launched a successful career in banking and insurance before reigniting her lifelong passion for interior design and founding Blackbird Design Studio in 2014. Laurie decided to further her studies through the continuing education division of the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), and completed RISD's highly regarded interior design certificate program in 2017.
Laurie's collaboration with Arnold Lumber at the 2017 Rhode Island Home Show was featured on the cover of ASID New England's "Design Community" chapter magazine.
Laurie's unique combination of design skills and business knowhow helps her create budget-friendly solutions that make her clients' design dreams a reality.

Our Story
Blackbird Design Studio was founded in 2014 with three guiding principles in mind:

No two spaces are alike: every home should reflect of the personalities of those who live, play, hope and dream within it;

There is at least one solution for every design challenge; and

Interior design services should be accessible to everyone, regardless of the size of one's home or one's budget.
